A Loving, sweet and caring Elizabeth Walker Adams a resident of Arbor Acres for the past 25 years passed on to be with her beloved Lord on Sunday, January 24, 2010 at the Kate B Reynolds Hospice home. She was born June 4, 1913 in Doylestown, PA the daughter of Alfred P. and Amanda Walker . Her husband, Dr. Carlton N. Adams and a daughter, Nancy Adams Johnson preceded her in death. She was very proud of being a registered nurse and the highlight of her career was meeting her future husband Dr. Carlton Adams while in training. She was a devoted member of Centenary United Methodist Church. Betty was known by her friends and family for her bright eyes and precious smile. She sought to bring joy to all around her. Her passions in life were her family, her Lord and cooking. A Graveside service will be held 1:00 Tuesday at Forsyth Memorial Park, followed by a Memorial service at Arbor Acres at 2:00. The family will receive friends following the memorial service. She is survived by two sons, Carlton N. Adams, Jr. and wife, Sue Adams of Tarboro, NC and Alfred Gray Adams and wife, Beth Adams, of Winston-Salem, NC. 9 Grandchildren: Thomas H. Johnson, Jr. and wife, Sharon Johnson of Raleigh, NC, Dr. David Aaron Johnson and wife, Mary Anne Johnson of Columbia, SC, Stephen Johnson of Greenville, NC, Nancy Elizabeth Johnson of Greenville, NC, Christine Castelloe and husband, Ken Castelloe of Raleigh, NC, Lyle Adams of Raleigh, NC, Kerry Lynn Adams of Raleigh, NC, A. Gray Adams, Jr. of Westminster, CO, Mandy Adams Melby and husband, Dirk Melby of Westminster, CO. and 8 Great grandchildren: In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be sent to Arbor Acres Scholarship Fund or Hospice and Palliative Care of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County.
