On June 24, George Agha of Clemmons passed away after a brief illness. Born in Jerusalem, Palestine he came to the United States fifty years ago .He managed The Generals Club in the Robert E. Lee Hotel in 1964, in Winston-Salem. His first business partnerships here were Mr. Barbeque, on Polo Rd., and Mr. Waffle, on Peters Creek Parkway. He opened the original food service for Bermuda Run Country Club. He also owned the Torch Supper Club in Troy, NC. Before his retirement he owned Village Restaurant and Waffle Wagon in Clemmons NC. Most recently, New Town Bistro has enjoyed his contributions in recipes and experience and great guidance and wisdom. George was past honorary Mayor of Clemmons, a member of Salem Lodge as well as Winston- Salem Shrine Club. He is survived by a son Kyle and wife (Tracie), two grandsons Kyad and Kasen of Lewisville NC .A daughter Maya and husband (Saad) two granddaughters Zainab and Fatima of Wesley Chapel NC. Nephew, Nidal Abdul Aziz and two brothers Sammy and Alex and their families of Winston-Salem NC. He will be remembered as a loving father, family man and great friend to so many. The family would like to thank the Drs. and staff of Forsyth Nuro ICU and Kindred Hospital of Greensboro for their care and understanding.
