I work next door to the McClamrock Law offices in Mocksville and saw Melissa almost daily in the parking lot or when she would pop in to ask for someone to come over and witness the signing of a document. She was such a joy to know and always quick with a smile and a friendly greeting. Just those brief moments in passing could brighten even the gloomiest of days. Although she was not originally from Mocksville she seemed to fit in like she was born and raised here. I have to admit being surprised when she told me that she came from the Kernersville area and was not a "Davie Native." I imagine other folks all around downtown Mocksville came to know her these past few years and her friendly, outgoing ways were evident to them as well. Melissa's passing has left a void in Mocksville that can not be filled. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Melissa's family. I am blessed to have known her.

I am honored and proud to say that Melissa was the step-mother to my two kids. I don't even like to use the word "step-mother" ... I would always say "second mother" instead. She was wonderful with them and had a huge influence in their life. They have many fond memories and funny stories about their times together. Aubrey and Bryson are amazing kids and without a doubt, I contribute some of that to Melissa. They will forever miss and love her. Praying for all that loved her.

LuAnn, Earl and Emily Our hearts are broken for you. Melissa was a beautiful young lady. We enjoyed the high school years when she played softball with our girls so much, she was so talented. I can still see her running like a bullet around those bases and knocking the ball out of the park! I can't ever remember a time that we saw her that she didn't have a smile on her face. We are blessed to have known her and your family. Love and Prayers, Robin and Reggie

Melissa was one of the kindest, most precious people I have ever encountered. I was blessed to have worked with her at Bobby Scott's office, where we formed a lifelong friendship. I will forever cherish the fond memories we made over the years. Melissa made an impact on everyone she met. She had a way of lighting up a room, and she was always so uplifting. You raised a wonderful daughter and I became so very fortunate to call her my friend. My heart breaks as this tragedy has stricken such a beautiful family. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you guys. Melissa was such a beautiful young woman with an even more beautiful soul. I remember that contagious smile and laugh that would light up a room as soon as she entered. God be with you all.
