Mrs. Georgie Ann Swink Allen, 82, of Winston-Salem, died Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Born July 6, 1932 in Forsyth County, Mrs. Allen was the daughter of the late George Isom and Juel Hart Swink. She graduated from Old Town School, attended High Point College (University) and studied music at Salem College with Dr. Paul Peterson. Mrs. Allen retired from office work at Hanes Dye and Finishing Company after many years of employment. She married her husband, James L. Allen on December 24, 1955. Mrs. Allen sang her first solo at Becks Baptist Church at the age of 6.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Russ William Allen (Michele) of Oxford, NC; two granddaughters, Megan Marie Allen of Silver Springs, MA and Sara Allen Hamlett (Stephen) of Raleigh, NC; and her adopted son, Richard Johnson (Shirley) of Winston-Salem.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Bethania Moravian Church with Rev. Charles Fishel and Rev. Russ May officiating. Burial will follow at Church Graveyard.
