Bethania - Robert C. (Bob) Adams, age 78, passed away peacefully at Forsyth Medical Center on May 20, 2013. Bob was born May 3, 1935 in Winston-Salem, the son of Woodrow and Frances Harvel Adams.

He was a 1953 graduate of R.J. Reynolds High School and worked at Western Electric/Bell Labs as a Senior Draftsman for 25 years. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Alice, and a son, Bryan Adams of the home. Bob and I had a nice conversation a couple of weeks ago at the show in Richmond, so this news was shocking to us. Bob will be greatly missed. We're keeping Alice, Bryan and all of you in our prayers. John Kelly and Al Honeycutt

My thoughts are with each of you during this difficult time. It has been a long commitment to our profession that has lost one of its most involved forces. I recall my first antiques show in Raleigh in 1979 at the Civic Center when I was with Whitehall. It was truly amazing! The great furniture, the crowds, and Bob knowing so many. He will be missed.

We are so saddened to hear of the loss of Bob. He, and his family, were such a big part of our lives when we first moved to NC. We were just starting our antiques business and we did our very first show with Antiques Extravaganza. Through the years, our business continued to grow in no small part because Bob included us in his show "family." Our girls, in a way, grew up in these venues. Always a kind and courtly gentleman to us, he will be very fondly remembered. Our condolences to his family and friends.

I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing....it seemed unexpected to me. The last time I saw him he looked so good and seemed in such good spirits. There are lots of good memories from the antiques extravaganzas for me. I remember the first show I ever did was your first show in Richmond....seems like just yesterday! Please know I am thinking of you at this difficult time and remembering everyone in prayer.

I was so sorry to read of Bob's death. It brought back many memories of the Antique Shows. My deepest sympathy to all of you.

Tom & Pam Thornton
We could not set up at the 1st Extravaganza in July, 1976 because back then Shupps Grove, Pa. was the "big show" on that date. But we set up at the Thanksgiving Show in Nov, 1976 in the tobacco warehouse and didn't miss a show setting up as dealers for many many years. Then Tom set up walls for dealers at the Extravaganzas for many years. In other words, all of us go back many years. Bob, Alice, Susie, David, & Bryan set the mark for antiques shows in N.C., Virginia, & S.C. (for a time). We are all part of the "old" antiques dealers that enjoyed all of the "comraderie" of dealers beginning in the early 1970's. What a time! Bob was a landmark and he will be missed by many. It was a good time to be in the business and it took people with vision like him to get this business going. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of his family and close friends. Tom & Pam
