Winston-Salem - Madolyn Hackett Kittinger, 93, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home on Wednesday, October 3, 2012. Madolyn was the daughter of William Henry Hackett and Rebecca Haynes Hackett. She was born in Roanoke, Virginia on July 19, 1919 where she spent her early life and education.

In 1938 she moved to Winston-Salem. She was an avid collector of antiques and enjoyed needlework. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul in 1997.

She is survived by one daughter, Janice K. Vickers of Winston-Salem, one son, Col. Paul F. Kittinger, Jr. (Anne) of Fayetteville; four grandchildren: Tonya C. Vickers of Clemmons, Tommy M. Vickers of Lewisville, Paul Scott Kittinger of Calabash, NC and Joy Kittinger Walker of Rome, GA; five great-grandchildren: Taylor, Anne Scott, Jillian Grace, Drew and Kate, and one sister, Ellen H. Fuller of Roanoke, VA.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 6th from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Salem Funeral Home Reynolda Chapel at the corner of Reynolda and Polo Road. A graveside service will be at 3:30 p.m. at Forsyth Memorial Park.
