Forsyth County
Wanda was more affectionately known to close family and friends as Lou. Lou passed away after a brief illness at Forsyth Memorial Hospital, August 29, 2012.
Lou was born April 12, 1939 to Mr. Clyde O. Addison and Mrs. Ophilea R. Addison. She is survived by her loving baby sister Linda Kay Addison Shumate (Eddie), Nephew, Eddie G. Shumate, Jr. (Stormy), Niece, Tammy S. Cooper (Daryl), Loving companion Virginia “Tootsie” Morton, her great-nieces and nephew, Ashleigh, Sarah, Anna and Trey, her extended family Frank Froelich, Jr. (deceased) and Diane, Mike and Lana Froelich, Robin Morton. “Grandchildren” Frank Froelich III, Katrina, JL, Kayla and Samantha Thomas, Natalie Froelich. She also leaves behind dear friends, Lee and Gus Watkins, Sue and Tommy Couch.

Lou retired from Western Electric and was a Telephone Pioneer. She was a selfless person and a friend to any and all. Lou never met anyone that she was not willing to help in any way. She gave freely of her time and compassion. She contently whistled and always had a tune on her lips. She loved being at the beach and enjoyed the many years she and Tootsie had there.

She was truly a blessing to all she met and she will be missed by all.

Her celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 31st from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at Salem Funeral Home Reynolda Chapel at the corner of Reynolda and Polo Roads. A graveside service will follow immediately at Forsyth Memorial Park. Officiating will be Pastor Terry Rausch, Jr., Rev. Eddie Honeycutt and Rev. Ellen Strickland.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Northwest Baptist Church, 407 Petree Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27106 or church or charity of choice in memory of Wanda Lou.

To the Addison Family, Please read John 3:16 as well as Acts 24:15. These two scriptural gems easily replace the loss of words you are likely going through. Although these times are extremely trying, please know that someone is praying for you, please know there is someone that cares, and please remember the promise of Acts 24:15.
