Loretta Melton Anderson

Mrs. Loretta Melton Anderson, 68, passed away July 9, 2007 at Springwood Care Center of Forsyth after a lengthy and courageous battle with colon cancer, diabetes, dementia and Alzheimers, and many leg plastic surgery skin drafts. She is survived by her husband, Jack M. Anderson, of the home. Mrs. Anderson was born in High Point, NC to the late Rathmer (Bob) Melton and Carlee Warner Melton. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. She was a graduate of Asheboro High School in 1957. In 1959, she was first runner up in the Asheboro Queen of Randolph Pageant. She also graduated from Woman’s College of University of NC at Greensboro in 1962. Mrs. Anderson was secretary/receptionist for both CP&L Light Company in Asheboro and Hanes Hosiery Highway 52 North, Weeks Plant for 15 years. A visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July11, at Salem Funeral Home, 120 S. Main Street. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Parklawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Springwood Care Center and staff for all their love and tender care. And a special thanks to Hospice & Palliative Care Center.
